There are 36 numbers plus 0 and 00 and many combinations of numbers on which to place bets. Additional bets include: red/black, even/odd, 1 to 18, 19 to 36, first dozen, second dozen, third dozen, and column bets. The dealer spins the ball. If it lands on a number on which a player has placed a chip the player wins. The payout is determined by how many numbers are covered by a player’s chip.
New Hampshire Hold ‘Em
New Hampshire Hold ‘Em is a five-card poker game that lets you bet up to 10 units on a single hand. In NH Hold ‘Em, you compete against a pay table, not against the dealer. The goal is to make a poker hand using the two cards in your hand and the three cards on the board. In order to get a push, you need a pair of 6’s through 10’s, and a pair of jacks or better wins. Blackjack, or twenty-one, is the most widely played casino table game in the world. The goal of twenty-one is simple; beat the house’s combination by acquiring a combined card count of 21 or under. Aces are valued as either 1 or eleven, Kings, Queens and Jacks have a card count of ten, and all other cards are given their numeric face value. If the Player’s total goes over 21, the Player busts and loses the amount wagered. Players win by not busting and having a total higher than the dealer, or not busting and having the dealer bust, or getting a blackjack without the dealer getting a blackjack. If the player and dealer have the same total (not counting blackjacks), this is a “push”, and the player does not win or lose money on that hand.

Let It Ride
Let it Ride is a five card stud game in which players try to get the best possible poker hand by using a combination of their cards and the dealer’s cards. A winning hand consists of a Pair of 10s or better. Players compete against a paytable, not against the dealers or other players.
To play, each player places three bets of equal denomination. Players are then dealt three cards face down. The dealer is also dealt three cards, called “community cards”. After looking at their hand, players may ask for their first bet back or may “let it ride”. The dealer will then turn over one community card. Players may then ask for their second bet back or “let it ride”. The second community card is turned over by the dealer. At this point, all winning hands are paid.

Vermont gambling is nearly nonexistent. There are no casinos in Vermont. Charities may hold bingo games, raffle and an occasional casino night. Types of Vermont Online Gambling
Off-track betting on horses is legal in Vermont. TwinSpires and BetAmerica operate in the state. Online casino gambling sites with poker and sports betting that accept Vermont players are not legal. There are three forms of live gambling in Vermont. The state lottery sells scratch-off tickets and lotto drawings. This includes interstate drawings like Powerball, Megabucks, and Mega Millions. There are local lottos like Gimme 5, Lucky for Life, Pick 3, and Pick 4. Some retailers also have virtual instant play machines known as Touch Play. Charities are permitted to hold bingo games and raffles. Casino nights are also permitted on a limited basis.
Horse racing is legal in Vermont. There are no live tracks these days. Off-track betting parlors are permitted at bars. These may also accept phone wagering with advance deposits.
They also have home poker games that are allowed. These are social poker games that are to be played only with socially verifiable “friends”. Although these social poker games are not technically legal, they are tolerated up to a certain point. As long as residents follow the laws in place, they can play poker within their homes.
Vermont Gambling Laws
All gambling expansion must be approved through a constitutional amendment. All gambling has a minimum age of 18 years. Live horse racing is legal but no tracks operate. Off-track betting is permitted at licensed simulcast sites. These are typically bars.
The state lottery may offer games of chance. These are limited to scratch-off tickets and lotto games. The Vermont Lottery is permitted to join interstate drawings. It may also sell virtual instant tickets on kiosks. Tickets may not be sold over the Internet.
Bona fide nonprofit organizations, including fraternal, educational and civic groups, may operate games of chance for fundraising purposes. This includes raffles, bingo games, and social card games. The prizes for one day may be no higher $20,000. This is waived four times per year as long as the dates are at least 20 days apart.
Employees may not be paid more than $2,000 individually and $15,000 cumulatively each year. Three casino nights are permitted each year. These must be more than 15 days apart.
Games that involve any element of chance are illegal in Vermont. This includes daily fantasy sports sites, according to the state attorney general, unless it is specifically exempted from gambling laws by the legislature.

Vermont Gambling History
There is little in the way of the history Vermont gambling due to its lack of existence. Horse racing dates back to the 1700’s but it was not regulated until 1963. At the time, horse and greyhound racing were legal. Greyhound racing was repealed in 1992. Green Mountain Race Track, the last horse race track in Vermont, closed in 2008. All of the betting moved to local shops, and over the Internet.
Voters approved a state lottery in November 1976. The enterprise was created in October 1977. Green Mountain Game was the first Vermont Lottery game. The first ticket was sold on February 1978.
The laws surrounding Vermont casinos are strict and enforced. There is no sign that the state will legalize brick and mortar casino gambling. Vermont online gambling suffers the same fate, as they do not allow any form online casino games, poker, or sports betting.
Vermont’s attorney general declared daily fantasy sports to be illegal in Vermont in January 2016. A bill to override that opinion was filed in the state legislature in February 2016. It was passed by the state senate later that month.
